Cockatiel craving
Just about the first thing I did when I came downstairs this morning was fetch Rembrandt out of his cage. (Sandro usually stays in the cage because he’s not real tame and not a very skilled flyer.) I don’t think I’d had a chance to let him out all week. Rembrandt explored the textures of the placemats, got scritchies from both Mommybird and Daddybird, licked the teapot and backed...

An observation
Pretty much every song the Clancy Brothers ever performed is a guaranteed earworm, but “The Irish Rover” has to be one of the worst. *bops along to the song*

I blame the Post-It Note
When I got to work, I took my lunch up to the lunchroom to put it in the fridge. I noticed on the soda machine a neatly written Post-It note: “Dear Sodaman, please bring back the Mountain Dew.” My brain obligingly began playing “Mountain Dew” as performed by the Clancy Brothers. Now I’m listening to one of their live performances at Carnegie Hall, courtesy of...

Cheap DVDS?
Does anybody know of a good source for discount-price DVDs? I know of DeepDiscountDVD, but that’s the only one. I’m thinking seriously about about acquiring the full series of Deep Space 9; you have to be prepared for when your Internet connection is down.  :)

Credit for this link goes to Alice Troughton and Eoin Macken, both of Merlin: She tweeted it, he retweeted, I saw it. A bitter, sad, and true essay.

Cowboys & Aliens
Hubby and I watched this movie last night. Verdict: Not bad, although Sandro turned his back on it in disapproval. (My younger tiel has very high moral standards. He does not like violence or bad language.) Damn, Daniel Craig is quite a bad-ass, isn’t he? Face like ten miles of volcanic rock, body like a Greek god. (Yes, this was the first movie I’d seen him in. No, I don’t watch...

Michael Jackson dead: "LONG LIVE THE KING OF POP HE WILL BE MISSED WE LOVE YOU MJ"
Amy Winehouse alive: "That slutty heroin addict needs to just drop dead already"
Amy Winehouse dead: "Ugh she was such a great talent, taken so young. Rest in peace, Amy ♥"
Whitney Houston alive: "Stupid crackwhore. What a fucking moron."
Whitney Houston dead: "I am in tears, she was taken so soon. Her voice will live on. She was so wonderful and talented."

*snortgiggle*
I’ve just watched Eoin Macken’s interview… with Eoin Macken. Yes, folks, he’s pretty, but he can also bring the craic like nobody’s business. (Yes, spellcheck, “craic” is too a word.)

Shades of Gray: Why we should not bomb Iran  →
crazybook-lovingchristiangirl: Ignorance: I’m worried about Iran. They are building a nuclear weapon, then they will blow up Israel and we will have even more terrorist attacks on our country. We most protect ourselves. The only way to do that is to attack Iran before they attack us. … THIS.
